Yard Patrol Craft

In honor of the U.S. Navy’s 250th birthday, the United States Naval Academy is bringing a piece of its proud training tradition to the 2025 Annapolis Powerboat Show, October 2–5. For one weekend only, attendees may step aboard a 676-class Yard Patrol (YP) Craft—the same vessels midshipmen use to sharpen seamanship, navigation, and leadership skills on the Chesapeake Bay and beyond.

Usually reserved for midshipmen, these 108-foot workhorses provide hands-on instruction in everything from damage control to advanced navigation. Each YP is midshipman-run and officer-guided, designed to simulate Fleet operations in a safe, controlled environment. They even run movement orders up and down the Eastern Seaboard.

The YP’s presence isn’t just a rare opportunity to climb aboard a Navy training vessel—it’s also a salute to the Navy’s founding moment on October 13, 1775, when Congress resolved to create the Continental Navy. The tradition of commissioning sea-ready leaders began then and continues today from right here in Annapolis.

This floating classroom is more than wood and steel—it’s the future of naval leadership. Don’t miss your chance to tour the ship, meet the crew, and experience the mission firsthand.

Catch the action at City Dock, just in time for Fleet Week—and get a close-up look at how the Navy trains tomorrow’s officers.

Boat Show Brew

The Annapolis Boat Shows are proud to welcome Boat Show Brew as the official beer of both the 2025 Annapolis Powerboat Show and the 2025 Annapolis Sailboat Show. Brewed in collaboration with local favorite Pherm Brewing Company, this crisp, crowd-pleasing pilsner does more than toast the boating lifestyle—it helps fund it.

Proceeds from the Boat Show Brew launch party will go directly to the EYC Foundation’s Marine & Maritime career initiatives, supporting the Foundation’s efforts to promote careers in the marine trades and maritime sciences. The all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit awards more than $50,000 in scholarships annually and is committed to opening doors for the next generation of Chesapeake Bay stewards and marine professionals.

Biggest Show Yet

The City of Annapolis is undergoing a transformative redevelopment of its historic City Dock, the waterfront home of the Annapolis Boat Shows. This multi-phase project aims to enhance resiliency against sea level rise, create a more vibrant public space, and preserve the area’s maritime heritage. When complete, the revitalized dock will serve as a year-round community hub while continuing to host the world’s premier in-water boat shows.

While construction will be halted for the duration of the show, the layout still had to be thoughtfully adjusted to accommodate the project. The Dock Street entrance to the show had to be completely reimagined—allowing for a more open entryway into the event. What’s more, with the removal of the Harbor Master’s Office, the overall footprint has temporarily expanded. The additional space is a welcome consequence. This year’s show is expected to feature well over 300 exhibitors and 400 boats.
