TEMPORARY JOBS AVAILABLE TO BUILD AND STAFF BOAT SHOWS

Paid employment opportunities are available to build and staff the boat shows.

Jobs are available for all levels of abilities. 

If you love the Annapolis Boat Shows, the vantage point from behind the scenes is something special.

 


REQUIREMENTS 

Our primary requirement is a desire to build and/or staff an in-water boat show.

Staff are assigned jobs best suited to their experience, but jobs are available for all levels of abilities.  Please review the following Job Descriptions, to help you decide how your skills and experiences can best fit the needs of the boat show.


JOB DESCRIPTIONS

This is a general list of job qualifications.  Please be aware there is a possibility you will be asked to work more than one role during your employment with Annapolis Boat Shows.

Ticket Seller:

  • Customer service with a smile, interacting with fellow employees and boat show guests
  • Ability to make change
  • Manage cash drawer and the use of credit card machines
  • Standing and sitting for extended period, normal shift may be 9a-6pm
  • Work is rain or shine

Land Crew:

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs if needed
  • Knowledge and experience using hand tools and light power tools
  • Directing and assisting vendors when needed
  • Customer service with a smile, interacting with fellow employees and boat show guests
  • Step into other job roles at the Operation Manager’s discretion
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Fork lift driving experience a plus
  • Work is rain or shine

Boat Driver:

  • Ability to kneel and wrangle 20-foot sections of docks, there is a lot of pushing, pulling, shoving and yanking involved.
  • Small boat handling experience
  • Ability to tie bowline and other necessary knots
  • Knowledge of Marine Rules of the Road and basic navigation
  • Use of VHF Radio
  • Step into other job roles at the Marine Construction Manager’s discretion
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs if needed
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Work is rain or shine

Water Crew:

  • Ability to tie bowline and other necessary knots, basic experience with line handling
  • Knowledge of basic boat safety
  • Bending and kneeling for extended stretches of time
  • Basic knowledge of boat tie-up strategies such as spring lines, use of fendering, etc.
  • Knowledge and experience using hand tools, light power tools, and generators
  • Use of VHF Radio
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Step into other job roles at the Operation Manager’s discretion
  • Customer service with a smile, interacting with fellow employees and boat show guests
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs if needed
  • Work is rain or shine

Show Day Gate Support:

  • Customer service with a smile, interacting with fellow employees and boat show guests
  • Standing for long stretches of time
  • Accepting and scanning electronic tickets, paper tickets and vendor badges
  • Prepare show material to give to show guests
  • Step into other job roles at the Operation Manager’s discretion
  • Work is rain or shine

Show Day Ground Support:

  • Ability / Knowledge of driving golf cart
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs if needed
  • Deliver ice/cases of goods/and food to specialty events & tents
  • Repair minor maintenance issues, mad McGyver skills a plus!
  • Use and knowledge of hand tools and light power tools
  • Customer service with a smile, interacting with fellow employees and boat show guests
  • Step into other job roles at the Operation Manager’s discretion
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Work is rain or shine

Truck Driver:

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Knowledge and skill to drive & back up trailers up to 25 feet in length
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs if needed
  • Step into other job roles at the Operation Manager’s discretion
  • Work is rain or shine
