A Master Class with Jim Zima from Great Lakes Diesel
This two-day, hands-on class will provide a preliminary and in-depth review of how a diesel engine works. All aspects of general and yearly maintenance will be covered, to include:
- Oil changing
- Impeller replacement
- Cooling system service
- Fuel filter replacement and general fuel system servicing
- Basic transmission service
- Trouble shooting electrical systems
- Motor mounts and shaft alignment
Various engine parts, tools, and running engine models of Yanmar 1GM10 and Universal M-25XP will be available to demonstrate parts and procedures.
Additional Maintenance topics will include:
- Valve adjustment
- Compression testing
- Cooler/heat exchanger repairs

Multi-day admission to the Bay Bridge Boat Show is included with your Diesel Maintenance registration, as well as lunch during the 2 days of class. The class will be held on the boat show grounds at Bay Bridge Marina – Building #4, 357 Pier 1 Road, Stevensville, MD 21666.
Refunds are acceptable up to 30 days prior to the start of the event.
Inside 30 days of the event, refunds will be issued if the space can be filled with another student. If the space is not filled with another student, there will be no refund.
