Knysna 550 to make its global debut at the 2026 Annapolis Sailboat Show

Date: June 9, 2026

This fall, visitors to the Annapolis Sailboat Show (Oct. 15-18) will get the first public look at the Knysna 550, a new 55-foot cruising catamaran from South Africa’s Knysna Yacht Company.

The 550 has already been shortlisted for World Multihull of the Year 2026 ahead of its public unveiling. Designed in collaboration with VDS Marine Design, it builds on the company’s earlier Knysna 500 with new hull lines and added structural reinforcement.

Built for offshore passages, the 550 features a protected raised helm station, wave-piercing bows, and roughly 1,000 liters each of fuel and freshwater capacity for extended time at sea. It is offered as a semi-custom vessel, with three- or four-cabin layouts and two headline configurations: the 550SL (Sky Lounge), with an elevated lounge for entertaining, and the 550SE (Solar Explorer), set up for long-distance self-sufficiency.

The Knysna team will be at their stand throughout the show to walk visitors aboard.
