Become a Boater for the Day at the Bay Bridge Boat Show
Date: March 6, 2026
Like any lifestyle change, becoming a boater can be intimidating. Sure, it looks like a hoot, but is it worth the cost? Will you be able to find the time? Do you have what it takes to master the required skills? Can you rock shoes without socks? We’d like to convince you that the answer to all those is an emphatic “yes,” but the truth is that you have to figure it out for yourself. That’s exactly what the Bay Bridge Boat Show at Safe Harbor Narrows Point is for: a commitment-free chance to explore the boating lifestyle before you take the plunge. Here’s how to make the most of your day by the Bay.
Ask Me Anything About Boating

Start your morning with free coffee, donuts, and answers to every question you’ve been afraid to ask. New to boating? Not sure how to tackle the show for the first time? Wondering where to take lessons, how to research boats, or what kind of boating fits your life? Hit the show early on Saturday, April 18, at 10 a.m. and pick the brains of a panel of experienced boaters who love helping newcomers find their footing. This session is free, but pre-registration is requested so we don’t run out of donuts. Sign up here!
BoatUS On-Water Training

If you’d rather learn by doing, the BoatUS On-Water Training program is your chance. A licensed USCG captain will take you out right from the show docks for three hours of hands-on instruction covering close-quarters boat control, docking, towing, and trim setting. Learn more.
Climb Aboard

Looking at boats online is great, but nothing beats getting your feet on fiberglass. The show features over 250 new and used boats, from center consoles and bowriders to cabin cruisers, trawlers, pontoons, kayaks, and everything in between. Not sure what type is right for you? That’s the whole point. Climb aboard, compare layouts, test the sightlines from the helm, and get a feel for what fits. Dealers are on hand to answer questions and help you figure out what makes sense for your budget and experience level. See the full boat list (more models will be added as we get closer to the show).
Visit Exhibits

You don’t need to own a boat to start living the boating lifestyle. The Bay Bridge Boat Show features more than 130 marine exhibitors offering everything from boat sharing services and marina memberships to engines, electronics, gear, and maintenance supplies. Not sure what any of it is for? The people behind these products love talking to newcomers. You’ll also find sunglasses, artisanal mixers, and other essentials for life on the water. Check out our exhibitor directory.
Relax and Recharge

After all that exploring, you’re going to need a break. Food trucks are spread throughout the show serving wings, tacos, sandwiches, ice cream, and more. Three beer trucks keep things chill for those 21 and older. And when you’re ready to sit down, Red Eye’s Lazy Mermaid Pool Bar has live music, cocktails, and plenty of seating.
Try the Marina Life

Plenty of people choose to keep their boat at a marina. A big part of that is the convenience, but folks also appreciate all the amenities (pools, tennis courts, clubhouses, etc.). Safe Harbor Narrows Point is a shining example of why you might want to become a marina member. And, for the authentic boater experience, there are ten waterfront restaurants within walking distance of the show.
