‘Twas the third week of December, when I remembered with fear,

In just a few days, the holidays would be here;

While the kids’ gifts had been wrapped with time to spare

For mom, my Amazon cart still remained bare.

She’s hard to shop for, but I couldn’t fail her;

Then I remembered, she just bought a Whaler!

The first one’s a no-brainer, as everyone knows:

You just can’t beat a ticket to one of our shows!

Spring Sail is awesome and Bay Bridge is a ball,

Then there’s Power and Sail to wrap up the fall.

If you’re in love with a boater, surely you know

Nothing makes them beam like that clean fiberglass glow.

So get a kit to make their boat shine like it’s new

(Maybe offer up a little elbow grease too).

Another great gift for someone you hold dear;

Consider a new piece of foul weather gear.

Or give something to fit just right like a glove,

And donate to a cause that you know that they love.

Safety is important, so show that you care

By stocking them up on a new set of flares.

While a tie or a pair of socks might be nice,

Get them an audible signaling device.

Prepare them for any situation they’re in

Send them to Offshore Emergency Medicine,

Or sign them up for a diesel maintenance class

If their inboard has been a huge pain in the… past.

If your loved one’s the type that’s afraid to fail,

Don’t let that stop them from learning to sail.
