A Message from the General Manager of the Annapolis Boat Shows

Dear Fellow Boat Lover:

I would like to invite you to the 2014 United States Sailboat Show, the oldest and largest in-water sailboat show in the world and granddaddy of all boat shows. This year's event, Oct 9-13, 2014 promises to be the best show yet.  The many exciting features of this year's show include:

Preview Day – October 9, 2014

Be the first for the unveiling of new boats and products, and shop opening day specials. With smaller crowds, this is a special day for the serious sailor and boat buyer.

Premier Launch Party – October 9, 2014

Celebrate opening night with a star-studded cast from the sailing industry during an evening filled with island music, delicious food, cocktails, and fun. Special guest speaker Ken Read is considered to be one of the world’s most accomplished and celebrated sailors. The first annual Sailing Industry Distinguished Service Award, co-sponsored by Sail America will be presented. Corporate tables are available as well as individual tickets for consumers and exhibitors.

Vacation Basin: Plan the Dream

Dedicated to chartering, travel, vacations and charter boat ownership in the Chesapeake Bay and exotic island locations. Boat show enthusiasts can browse among dozens of charter companies, speak with tourism boards, explore fractional ownership, take advantage of boat show discounts, win valuable vacation-oriented door prizes, and explore adventure travel and exotic destination resorts.   Sponsored by Cruising World Magazine.

Charter Yacht Ownership Opportunities in Vacation Basin reveal how to invest in the sailing lifestyle with no out-of-pocket expense. Sound impossible? Explore the many options presented in Vacation Basin and open up your cruising possibilities worldwide. Once the down payment is made, an owner has an opportunity to enjoy free sailing, sell the yacht at the end of five years, and come out cash positive.

Brokerage Cove

The United States Sailboat Show is expanding its already large selection of new and premiering sailboats to include a floating marina expected to be overflowing with used boats, presented by regional boat brokers and available for immediate sale.  Brokerage Cove is an easy walk from the hundreds of new and premiering boats on display in downtown Annapolis. This new venue is just inside the Spa Creek Bridge and one block from the main show. Electric shuttle bugs and water taxis will ferry attendees between the two venues and the first bus stop from parking lots to ticket booths provide easy access to Brokerage Cove. Show goers can cool off in fun and relaxing water taxis that run continuously between the Annapolis City Dock and St. Mary's Cove. The price of admission includes entry into both the United States Sailboat Show and Brokerage Cove.

Take The Wheel: Interactive Workshop

Searching for the sailboat of your dreams? Take the Wheel is an innovative workshop that includes an afternoon of sailing, providing a chance to evaluate your choice of sailboats. This is a perfect opportunity to be introduced to a wide range of boat styles. A one-day package includes classroom instruction, boat show admission, meals, and an evening wine tasting social hour. Choose two introductory rides on one of four catamarans from 38’ to 44’ or three monohulls from 37’ to 56.’
