Annapolis Sailboat Show to Open Thursday

Annapolis, Maryland (October 6, 2014) – On Thursday October 9, 2014 sailors from around the globe gather on miles of docks in historic Annapolis for the 45th United States Sailboat Show.

Boat show enthusiasts at the five-day internationally acclaimed event board and inspect boats built by virtually every major sailboat manufacturer, including the largest collection of catamarans anywhere.

Among the hundreds of sailboats on display, the show features 12 boats from Jeanneau, 10 by Beneteaus, eight built by Fountains Pajot, and four from Hylas.

New this year is a sexy exciting high performance racing section and a venue dedicated to pre-owned brokerage sailboats for immediate sale.

“This isn't just a boat show,” said Paul Jacobs, president and general manager. “The Annapolis Sailboat Show is a multi-faceted maritime experience. There are boat tours, historic tours, Naval Academy tours, Maryland crab cakes, blue crabs, raw bars, craft beers, Painkillers, breathtaking views, and that's in addition to the biggest and best sailboat show in the country. “

Acres of on-land exhibitors are on-hand to display the latest in navigational equipment, marine equipment, high-tech electronics, boating accessories, rigging, clothing and gear. Sailors browse among dozens of charter companies, speak with tourism boards, explore charter boat ownership, take advantage of boat show discounts, win valuable vacation-oriented door prizes, and explore adventure travel and exotic destination resorts.
